Als ik de VS zou bestellen zou ik het bij B&H of Adorama doen...maar zelf ga ik toch liever voor de plaatselijke winkel . In België heb je trouwens 2 jaar wettelijke garantie, in de VS maar 1 dacht ik ?

Misschien is deze iets : 16-105 op marktplaats.

Uit de vergelijking die Kurt Munger maakte met de CZ16-80 kwam niet zo heel veel verschil tussen beide naar voor. De CZ blijft wel de betere van de twee, maar de andere heeft iets meer bereik en kost minder .

Ik zou zeggen, kijk eens op www.dyxum.com of er niemand van VS of Canada iets interessants verkoopt en laat het naar het hotel of ander tijdelijk adres van je vrouw sturen. Dan heb je én tweedehandsprijzen én in USD zonder importheffing...

Iemand nog iets gehoord over de opvolger van de a700?
Op sonyalpharumors.com staat dat de opvolger jan/feb 2011 verwacht wordt, maar dat zeiden ze van Q1 in 2010 ook al..

Photozone-review van de 18-55mm kitlens :

"optically there's really little to complain about - the lens is very sharp throughout the zoom range and the subjective sharpness perception benefits from quite low lateral CAs (color shadows).
Typical for such lenses there's quite a bit of vignetting at 18mm @ f/3.5
The Sony lens produces a fairly heavy barrel distortion at 18mm but the issue eases substantially once you zoom out a little.
Overall it is a substantial upgrade to its rather mediocre predecessor, the Sony 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6 DT, so the effects of the smaller zoom range combined with better optical glass and design clearly shows up here.

The Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DT SAM is, obviously a budget lens and there's a price to pay for this - the build quality is rather mediocre. The lens body is made of plastic down to the lens mount.

the Sony lens does really represent a killer offer especially when taking its very low price tag into account. "

Interessant interview met Mark Weir (Sony) over ongeveer het hele gamma van Sony Alpha.

Een paar quotes :

"Does Sony see enough demand in the full-frame DSLR category to continue advancing those models as well? What's happening with full-frame, do you think, in business?

Weir: Well, I think that from an industry standpoint, our view is rather similar to the industry's view. That is, that full-frame represents a bit of a paradox. It is certainly a critical part of any SLR line-up. All one has to do is to look at the lens line-ups that are offered, and it's easy to see that taking full advantage of many of the high performance lenses any manufacturer's lens line-up really requires a very high performance, full-frame camera. Yet, at the same time, if you look at the market, the market has shifted increasingly toward the use of APS-C cameras, even in the enthusiast and semi-pro space.

"As videos become more prominent, that's put some demands on lenses in terms of focus speed, to be able to work with -- well, I guess less of an issue for Sony, because you have phase detect AF during videos on the SLT models, so you don't need the speed for the contrast detect -- but certainly sound is still important; the quieter SSM motors. Will we see more lower-priced G-series lenses for Alphas and E-mounts, with the SSM motor?

Weir: Well, SSM as a motor type -- a piezoelectric solid state drive -- is very expensive to make. It's very expensive for everyone to make. What you are seeing is the emergence of hybrid silent AF motors.

With A-mount, we have silent AF in a number of our lenses, and you will see more and more of that. We will certainly be introducing more and more lenses with SSM motors as well. We're really pursuing a two-part strategy with A-mount -- not only affordable, but also some high-performance SSM lenses as well, which are well-suited for video.

On the E-mount side, we have the advantage of creating not only a lens mount, but a lens platform, which starts from day one as being optimized for video. Opvallend dat Sony een (geslaagde ?) poging doet om de A700-upgraders aan boord te houden.
