  • GSM - motorbike - handsfree

There have been a few posts about using a telephone handsfree on a motorbike,
I'm just wondering if there are any new options out there that BDers are trying?

I have to say, I'm not really in favour of using the phone when riding. It's one time that I enjoy just the quiet. However, I'm using the bike more for work, with GPS (smartphone) and missing calls is a pain.
I've seen a Scala system and one from Interphone, both Bluetooth. I've not found local places that sell them yet though.
Any cheaper cabled alternatives people are using?

    Thanks, Rob.

I am using my bleutooth phone together with mijn GPS Garmin Zümo, so i have a bluetooth connection between mijn Phone and GPS.
The GPS is wired to my intercom.
    This works very well.
I suppose you don't have an intercom on your bike? or?

      No, no intercom here.
I've just found the Cardo Scala online here, but €141
      The interphone €178

Same here... Nokia N61 with Garmin Zumo and Autocom intercom.
I think you can get more adequate information on the forum of f.e. www.fjrijders.be Lots of people over there who use these kind of things, altough most have a (more expensive then you need) intercom...

Re: GSM - motorbike - handsfree

I bought my scala rider from the Motohouse in Overijse. I also use a smartphone and planned to use the headset for MP3 music, But I should have bought one model more expensive since my model "optimises" the sound for "speach" and not for "music". The built in radio is not super, but the carkit funtionality is more than satisfying. It works perfect for GPS/Phone The volume of the headset is automatically adjusted to the noise of your bike.

If you plan to built it in a systemhelmet such as my C1, you need to buy an assessory wit a longer microphone-arm for 39 euro
