          Re: Memoirs of a geisha

          Groet

The details here grab me, sorry.

              Lips look un-even.
Eyebrow MU looks a bit messy.
Mascara 'blob' on her left lash.
Stray hairs going into her right eye.

Potentially a good shot, but too many details distract me

Sorry Max, you don't need "photoshop" to correct those things. You should see them before taking the photo.
A good MUA will see those details during the shoot and kick her/himself for missing them too. You shouldn't have to correct things like the lips after the shot.

I kick myself for missing things like that and I know how hard they are to spot when shooting. I still miss them. Photoshop is valuable part of the photographic process, so I don't see why 'out of the camera' is anything to make a statement with. I just get the feeling you settled for this, knowing that photoshop would correct it if you wanted.

Sorry, just personal feelings, no hard feelings.

                        Re: Memoirs of a geisha

@Trebs: O yes you are right. These things should be done during the shot, I fully agree. Normaly I am more carefull looking at it too.

But this shot was one out of many during the geisha shoot, couple of weeks ago. 3 models ..lots of rush, and not specific one model for a beautyshoot.

I dont want to defend the MUA in this case, but lots of things went wrong that day and then you are in a hurry and miss these little things.
And normaly I grap photoshop to correct these little mistakes, but not in this one.

And even when we do things 'perfect' .. with a team you can make mistakes. Me too. Lots of them and I kick myself afterwords if I see the mistake back on 20 pictures. Thats a lot of work extra afterwords.
But than again.. it is still a hobby and I accept mistakes because we are all human

But than again.. you are right.. better safe than sorry
