    Hallo,

    Wie kan mij een lijstje maken met de zaken welke ik nodig heb om een strobist starterskit samen te stellen? Denk dat ik niet de enige ben wie dat wel ziet zitten.

    Ik ben mijn setje beginnen kopen twee maand geleden en ben er onglooflijk content mee.
    Al mijn hulp heb ik van deze site en flickr groep gekregen.

Don't know how to use your flash(es) off-camera? That's okay. Just head on over to Strobist and start reading. You have nothing to lose but a good night's sleep. (It's free.) There is a full lighting course, hundreds of articles (uh, we're kinda into this stuff) and even a section of dozens of photos from real-world assignments with exact instructions on how they were lit with one or two small flashes. We are an organic, growing, learn-by-reading-then-by-doing community. The visual idea sharing that is going on here is phenomenal. Wanna share your photos with us? We'd love to see them. But please, limit yourself to one photo per day to give us time to enjoy each of your photos. And just as important, please take a moment to comment on a photo in the pool. This thing is about feedback and discussion more than it is about "Hey, look what I did." Also, please do not pull and resubmit your photos to the pool just to bump their position. We saw it the first time. Go out and shoot something different for us. :) You get what you give - and this group has a lot to offer. Please read carefully. If your photos do not meet the first four of the following rules they are subject to removal. Please... 1. We are specifically about off-camera flash, so photos posted to the group pool should reflect that. Sadly, people miss this rule all of the time, opening the door for these kinds of threads. Don't be that guy. ... (FWIW, on-camera flash is fine if it is used to trigger other off-camera flashes.) 2. Images posted to the pool must include the following lighting details, in the caption of the photo (or in the first comment): the number of flashes used, where the flashes are placed in relation to the subject or camera, how the flashes were modified (umbrella, soft box, beauty dish, snoot, etc.) and how they were triggered. If you do not want to have the lighting info in your caption, please place it in the first comment. We want to make it easy for people to find. Pictures using on-camera flash is not allowed unless it is being used in conjunction with off-camera flashes. Images using only continuous light sources are not allowed with the exception of images using the "light-painting" technique. The idea of this Pool is to share pictures taken with off-camera flash, and the details of how (the more detail the better.) Hey, we wanna learn from you... 3. Ensure your photos are work safe as many of our members browse from work. If you have something you'd like to share that would not be appropriate for work viewing, just post the (word) link in a discussion thread with a little warning. This is not your private art house. People read this site at work. A lot. If you would not leave the photo up on your monitor in an office environment while you head off to lunch, it is probably not appropriate for here. And if your photo is deleted, do not re-insert it. Specifically: Topless women - even with their hands over their boobies - are better posted in the groups that cater to that stuff. Ditto full nudes, butt-floss bikinis and very suggestive poses. Be aware that people from many cultures view this group, and what may be art in your country might very well be illegal in someone elses. Be respectful of that. It is common sense. Please do not push it. Thanks. 4. Did we mention the 1-a-day limit? Oh, yeah. We did. 5. This should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: Please do not use the threads as a classifieds section. Selling your stuff on Flickr is against the site's TOS, and it endangers the status of our group. Thanks. Also, I would have thought this one would have been obvious, but it is not. So here goes. The Strobist group is associated with Strobist.com. That is the name of my site, which is my family's livelihood. I coined it in 2006. I very much support the idea of your educating people about lighting. But please, respect my site's name enough to refrain from creating other "Strobist" sites, or designing and selling "Strobist" gear, or creating "Strobist" contests. This confuses people into thinking that we are associated when, in fact, we are not. You are a photographer. Be creative. If you are going to trade on a name, think of your own name. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Optional, but highly encouraged (and great karma:) 6. Post a picture? Leave a comment. Just doing this one, simple, quick thing will improve the quality of cross education immensely. Note a technique, offer an idea - anything, really. Just be nice. We're all about civility here. Exceptions? Heck, there's always an exception: Photos of your lighting gear (and mods) that you may wish to share are always welcome, lit or not. One more heads-up: You may note that Flickr does make the meta data viewable for many caption plug-ins. So if you are trying to protect the innocent with respect to names, etc., you may want to kill your captions before uploading. Please note: Any photo in the Flickr pool may be pulled up to the Strobist blog, where it would be seen by a large group of the coolest photographers in the world. If that would irk you, say so clearly in your caption, so we'll know to steer clear. And one final, non-photo thing. Above all, this group seeks to be an inclusive, mutually supportive place for people to learn about off-camera flash. You are encouraged to ask questions as well as answer them. (You are encouraged to search the archive - and especially to read LIghting 101 on the Strobist.com main site before firing off a bunch of newbie questions.) That said, no one here knows everything. I learn stuff here every single day. Read, and ask. Also, members of the Flickr Strobist group have created a FAQ, for the benefit of new members. More important than the subject matter is the approach to helping (or being helped by) others. It only takes a few chronic antagonists to ruin a community. Nastiness, name-calling, elitism, trying to bully others into a particular way of thinking, (and other similar activities) degrades the experience and the learning environment for all. Serial antagonists will be warned, and thereafter would be subject to being banned from the group. Read-only status would be retained, but the ability to post to threads or on the photo pool would be lost. We suspect this will not be a very bad problem. But with thousands of people involved, you have to set boundaries. Thanks much.

    Cactus v4 triggers (nog nooit een misfire gehad)
    Voor sb-600 heb ik een blokje gekocht om te kunnen aanstluiten met PC cord:
    hotshoe adapter to pc

    Voor de plu'tjes kan je eender wat pakken, momenteel ben ik aan het wachten tot een kennis terugkomt van amerika om deze meetenemen:
    2x Shootthrough
    1x silver (reflect)

    maar je kan eender wat kopen.

    Dat was het zo een beetje, ahja kheb ook hier wat gels gekocht en ball bungees:

    Hopelijk ben je er wat mee, je kan natuurlijk ook goedkoper gaan hoor, zeker in de swivels/statieven. Maar dit spul is echt tot klein inklapbaar en super stevig materiaal.

    EDIT: met het lezen van onderstaande post, ik heb me ook een weekendje beziggehouden met allerlei soorten grids, snoots,... te maken. Allemaal uit karton, zwarte rietjes, tape,... en werkt perfect !!

      Afhankelijk wat je wil uitlichten kan je met heel weinig gear wel al iets aanvangen. Het idee van strobist fotografie is dat je je flits off-camera gaat gebruiken.

      Met een TTL-cord kan je al verder, maar dan ben je wel erg beperkt qua bewegelijkheid en gebruik van accesoires. Misschien kan een lijstje van de gear die ik heb (en nog wil hebben ) je wat verder helpen:

      - flits: je hebt er op z'n minst 1 externe nodig, die je dan ook nog manueel kan instellen.
      (zelf heb ik 2 nikon sb-600 en een sb-26. Die laatste is al een oud model, 2e hands opgepikt. De 2e handsprijzen zijn ook niet meer die van 2 à 3 jaar geleden )

      - trigger (aansturing): je kan wel met flitskabels werken, maar draadloos werkt vlotter. Je hebt 1 transmitter en 1 receiver (per flits) nodig. ('k gebruik Cactus V2s-triggers, goedkoop, maar niet zo duurzaam en betrouwbaar, verder zijn er nog andere (duurdere alternatieven, zoals Pocketwizards, Cybersyncs, Skyports, Radiopoppers,...)
      Een mogelijk andere optie zijn 'optical slave triggers', deze geven een flitssignaal als ze 't licht van een andere flits waarnemen, doenbaar binnenshuis, twijfelachtig buiten.

      - een must voor paraplu's maar hoe dan ook handig om je flitsen te richten: swivels (1 per flits dus - zelf heb ik er 3)

      - om je flitsen te 'positioneren': flitsstatieven (verschillende merken, verschillende prijzen. Manfrotto Nano-stand is een veel gebruikte. Zelf heb ik er 2 van König en nog 1 antiek). Een andere handigheid is 'klemmen' Ze nemen minder plaats in dan een statief en kan ze nagenoeg overal bevestigen (heb 2 Manfrotto Super clamps en 1 eenvoudiger klemmetje van Walimex)

      - 'light modifiers' : de meest uiteenlopende accesoires om de vorm en hardheid van je flits te regelen: paraplu's (shoot-thru of reflecterende, deze laatste zilverkleurig of goudkleurig), softboxen (handiger je licht te richten, minder kans dat je licht daar terechtkomt waar het niet hoort), snoots & grids (om kleinere zone's te belichten / bij te lichten). Zelf gebruik ik 2 shoot-thru plu's, 1 reflecterende (zilver). Al mijn snoots/grids heb ik zelf gemaakt met karton, tape, lijm en veel rietjes (zie www.strobist.com en www.diyphotography.com). Ook heb ik nog een kleine softbox (Lastolite Ezybox)

      - reflectors/flags. Het eerste reflecteert flits- of zonlicht en spaart je een flits uit (je gebt deze in verschillende groottes en kleuren, van -tig producenten. Maar evengoed gebruik je piepschuim-platen, witte doeken, spiegels, ... Flags zet je tussen je lichtbron en je onderwerp om slecht een deel te belichten, of tussen je lichtbron en je camera om flare te vermijden.(heb 1 reflector: Lastolite Tri-grip).

      - diverse: gels (veranderen de kleur van je flitslicht, voor effecten of voor gelijke lichtkleur tussen flits en bvb gloeilamp/TL-lampen, ...). hot-shoe adaptors (mijn sb-600's hebben geen pc-poort om met de triggers te verbinden), flitsdiffusers (zoals van Sto-fen), beautydish (te kopen of te maken), ringflash-adaptors (Ray-flash, Orbis)

      - ...

        Dit volg ik met veel interesse! Ik heb zopas een 420EZ, 430EZ aangeschaft om wat meer manueel en off-shoe te flitsen. Cactus setje heb ik ook al... Nu de swivels, plu's en reflector!

            Dat vind ik niet echt strobism, maar goed dat is hoe je het interpreteert hé

              TS informeerde naar 'strobist'-materiaal (wat dit niet is). Als je veel licht nodig hebt, en het hoeft allemaal niet zo draagbaar te zijn, ben je inderdaad soms beter af met studioflitsen. Ergens staat hier een topic die het daar specifiek over heeft.

              PS 'k merk dat je (TS) in Merchtem woont. Daar kom 'k regelmatig wel eens langs

                Wat ik heb als kit (verzameld doorheen de tijd):
                -3 Swivels
                -4 flitsstatieven (ja 1 swivel te kort)
                -3 witte plus en 1 reflector plu
                -Nikon 24,25,28 (allemaal zelfde richtgetal), tis wel handig dat ze dezelfde richtgetal hebben, dat maakt het rekenen makkelijker.
                -Speedlite 430EXII,580EX
                -Lee Gels
                -PT04 triggers (5) en 1 transmitter.
                -Nu nog een datum vastleggen met het model en dan kan ik m'n eerste shoot beginnen.
