Categorieën in portretfotografie?

Hallo iedereen,

Ik ben bezig met mijn website te vernieuwen en ook mijn Facebook en Myspace hebben een update nodig.

Het probleem waar ik nu mee worstel, is dat ik een opsplitsing wil maken tussen gewone portretten en meer glamour, make-over portretten.

De 2 groepen zijn:

1. Groepsfoto's, duoshoots, familiefoto's, zwangerschappen, baby's, kids, communies,... Een beetje standaard portretfotografie voor particulieren.

2. Specialere portretten: make-overs, meestal foto's waarbij heel veel aandacht is besteed aan kledij, waar make-up en haren zijn gedaan, waar de mensen echt poseren. In deze categorie zet ik ook foto's uit modeshoots, waarop meer gefocused is op het gezicht en de kledij naar de achtergrond is verdwenen. Het zijn dus niet echt modefoto's, maar meer modeportretten als dat al een term zou zijn.

Het probleem bij groep 2 is dat ik dit ook wil aanbieden aan particulieren. Een term als modellenfotografie schrikt particulieren wat af, want zij denken dat zij geen "modellen" zijn. Glamour is dan weer ook een term die wel eens gebruikt wordt voor de typische soort fotografie van P-magazine, Menzo,...

Ik heb voorlopig de categorieën Portraits 1 en Portraits 2 genoemd om mijn Facebook. Maar misschien dat dit een beter beeld geeft van wat ik met mijn indeling bedoel: http://www.facebook.com/photos.php?id=689687600

Wie heeft er suggesties om de categorieën op te splitsen?

Ik begrijp je probleem. Persoonlijk vind ik Portraits 1 & 2 wel goed, dit blijft neutraal en strak.
Misschien moet je gewoon duidelijk maken dat het ene met visagie is en het andere zonder: 'Portraits with/without make-up artist'.
Het is maar mijn bedenking, misschien doet dit je een andere denkpiste inslaan. Succes ermee...

Facebook gaat hierin dus nog wat verder als sommige andere websites... Ik wou het je gewoon even meegeven omdat je facebook vernoemde en ik veronderstel toch dat je wel enig auteursrecht wilt behouden op je foto's. Bij Facebook wordt dit dus quasi onmogelijk gemaakt he.

Ja, dat probleem van foto's op Facebook is inderdaad wel een probleem. Dat moet ik ook nog eens oplossen. Misschien wel door grote watermarks op de FB foto's te zetten en de mensen naar mijn website proberen door te sturen... Staat op mijn to do list!

FaceBook is volgens mij bijzonder sterk 'over the top' gegaan de laatste jaren, ze zijn nu eenmaal een van de grootste sites in hun segment ... maar waar veel jongeren niet aan denken is dat alles wat er op staat ook door hun toekomstige werkgevers zal gelezen worden

Ik blijf er weg, en zet er al zeker geen foto's op, net zoals Flickr verlies je een stuk van je rechten op de foto door ze daar te plaatsen ... gewoon voor 30 Euro bij One.com ruimte huren en je eigen site online zetten, dan blijven alle rechten voor jou (let wel dat je site bij One.com in Denemarken terecht komt en niet in Nederland zoals hun kantoor, ik dacht dat Denemarken specifieke copyrights heeft ?)

Ik gebruik Facebook op een commerciële manier: om oude vrienden en klasgenoten te laten weten dat ik fotograaf ben en dat ze bij mij terecht kunnen voor een reportage. En om modellen, hair & make-up artists, stylisten en medefotografen te ontmoeten.

Maar ik moet inderdaad eens goed nadenken over die FB clausules. Mijn eerste gedacht is om een groot watermark over elke FB foto te plaatsen, zodat de foto onbruikbaar wordt voor derden.

Terug on topic: geeft het woord "glamour" een verkeerd beeld voor het soort foto's dat ik erin wil verwerken?

Als dit door iedereen als de definitie van "glamour" beschouwd wordt, dan ga ik die naam al zeker niet gebruiken. Ik weet dat glamour in Verenigd Koninkrijk gebruikt wordt voor P-magazine-achtige fotografie. Maar hoe begrijpt een Vlaming dat woord?

Ik denk dat glamour door de vlaming vergeleken wordt met showbizz cfr. glamour and glitter...
Portrait 1 en 2 is inderdaad nog zo geen slecht idee.
