Another power supply under the desk.. another cable.
Seriously though, I'm looking for a multi external-drive setup 250gb max/drive that I can use as image storage as well as the archived CD's / DVD's
Something with 1 PSU, 1 plug and 1 USB connection. A docking station maybe?
Any options? clearly I'm not up to date on this stuff so maybe the there is already a system for this. I just know that at the moment, each nice little box that I put on the desk has it's own PSU and cable and plug..

The Brick, love it !
Going to have a look at the spec sheets and things for these.
No way I'm paying a premium to put a porsche on the desk though.
Rob, I'm using this : http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10831
And very happy about it, also bus-powered and . . . . very small, but only 120GB though, I paid 99€ for the 100GB version some weeks ago at Pixmania

I think the best you can find for what you are searching is something like this http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10849. I just to Lacie because they are already in this thread but you have plenty of brands offering similar things. Lots of configurations possible if you look around. A cheaper one you can find here http://www.buffalo-technology.com/pr...&categoryid=29. But it has also certain limitations of course.
A good thing is also several devices like this authorise RAID 5 which will decrease total capacity but even when a drive fails all your data will still be safe.
And a thing like this is much better than what I ended up with over the years. 1 TB but spread over 5 HDD disks meaning loads of powersupplies, cables more cables and lots of space wasted,

I paid €99.95 for the 120GB version at Forcom two weeks ago.
Comes with second USB cable for power, but I don't use it.
Only drawback is that you can't use it as a storage tank in the field (i.e. without having a laptop at hand)
Very useful, however, for rapid mega-data exchange between different computers...

Reden: Edit: replaced "Formar" by "Forcom". Sorry folks!
