    Onlangs een Digilux 3 moeten checken van een kennis. Dit is een kloon van eerste 4/3 van Pana, de DMC-L1, die op zijn beurt een variante is van de Oly E330, de opvolger van de Oly E300. Bij deze toestellen klapt de hoofdspiegel verticaal naar links en de secundaire AF spiegel zit net voor de sluiter en klapt apart weg. Het eerste toestel met een verticaal scharnierende spiegel was de fameuze Olympus Pen F(T).

    On February 26th 2006, in a packed press conference on the first day of PMA 2006 Panasonic revealed their first digital SLR, the DMC-L1. The DMC-L1 represents another first, it's the first non-Olympus Four Thirds digital SLR which has to be good news for the system which has up until now been an Olympus only affair. When it was announced many noted the resemblance to the E-330, this is no coincidence as the DMC-L1 shares its optical subsystem (lens mount, mirror box, viewfinder, auto focus and exposure sensors) with the Olympus E-330.

    On January 26th 2006 over a year since the introduction of the E-300 Olympus revealed the 7.5 million pixel 'live view' successor, the E-330. The E-330's biggest differentiation to any other digital SLR is its capability to deliver a live view on the LCD monitor (in the same manner as a prosumer / consumer all-in-one digital camera). For those new to digital SLR's this is difficult to achieve because of the mirror / shutter mechanism, the mirror is in the light path in view mode to provide an image to the viewfinder, this means that no image can be projected onto the main sensor. Additionally most large D-SLR sensor don't have video out capability. Other changes over the E-300 include a flip-out LCD screen and a range of feature improvements inherited from the E-500.

      Achter de spiegel zit een extra kleine spiegel die naar beneden projecteerd voor de AF. Je kan mooi zien in de vertraagde beelden dat die mee opklapt en zich verstopt achter de grote spiegel.
      Toch een mooi stukje techniek, nee?
      Ja, maar in mijn RT bvb zit de AF spiegel vast aan de bodem en is een stuk kleiner en lichter dan een "normale" spiegel. (de RT heeft een halfdoorlatende spiegel die blijft staan, daar kan geen spiegel achteraan vast zitten)
