    fast 10x15 printer ?

    Can anyone suggest a fast printer for 10x15cm prints?
    For use on location.

    I know Photobox is fast, but not that fast

    Inkjet or dyesub, I'm not too bothered. Dyesub is easier though, no playing with cartridges or paper feed.

    I've seen some small Epson machines that look like toasters.. Anyone had experiences with them?

    Good question!

    If you're satisfied with the 10x15 format only, then I would go for the dye-sub. Fixed cost (about € 0.30/print) and always sufficient "ink" for the number of sheets in the pack. Also some models working on batteries.

    I went for the Canon IP4200, however, because of the possibility for larger formats and other colour printing applications outside photography.

    One day, I might buy a small dye-sub as well...

      I went for the Canon Dyesub Selphy 510. It's most impressive. No fuss, fast printing of postcard sized prints.
      The easy photoprint software that comes with it is very good too, again, no fuss, just functional.

      Other models have LCD screens or card readers built in, this one is just the basics I wanted to connect to the laptop, an ideal solution.

        I had the chance to play with an epson dyesub last week.

        It is not lightning quick but did ok speed wise. I did not get the impression it was fast but neither did I get the impression it was extremely slow. In the end it all depends how fast you need. Although I wasn't able to compare directly I got the impression it needed about the same time to print an 10x15 as my HP7960.

              LucD: the printer came from here http://www.cameranu.nl/ next day delivery too.

              Verseg, normally I would agree, as I have an Epson printer already. I tried the picturemates and on location I didn't want to worry about blocked paper, ink blockages, etc, etc. Plus they take 2x as long to print the 10x15. The ink ribbons and paper sets, speed, quality were all points I considered. For this this type of printing, the ideal low fuss solution for me was the Canon..

              Now to just tape over the Canon badge!
