Te koop aangeboden: Canon Speedlite 420EX / 420 EX flitser voor een digitale spiegelreflexcamera van Canon (bv de 300d/350d/400d/450d/20d/30d/40d etc).
De flitser is een ideale instapflitser voor iemand die tegen de beperkingen van de interne flitser aanloopt. De 420EX is de opvolger van de populaire instapflitser 380EX (verbeterd en sterkere flitskracht).
De 420EX heeft een automatische lichtmeting (E-TTL/E-TTL II), dit zorgt voor een goed belichte foto, daarnaast ondersteund de flitser een snelle flits (voor sluitertijden < 1/200) en heeft de 420EX ook een meezoomende kop. De 420EX heeft als voordeel op de 380EX dat de kop niet alleen kan kantelen maar ook kan draaien (swiffelen) en een sterkere flitskracht heeft. De flitser blijft daarbij compact en makkelijk vervoerbaar in de meegeleverde etui. Ook kan de 420EX als slave worden aangestuurd door de 550EX, 580EX of ST-E2.
De flitser is in een goede staat en werkt probleemloos. Uiterlijk heeft de flitser lichte gebruikssporen. De werking van de flitser is uitstekend. De flitser is weinig gebruikt. De flitser wordt verkocht wegens de aanschaf van een 580EX (ik heb de 420 EX altijd als slave gebruikt bij mijn huidige 580EX; echter ben ik nu opzoek naar gelijkwaardige flitser (is bij instellen makkelijker) als slave. Levering flitser inclusief voetje en beschermhoesje. Gebruiksaanwijzing heb ik helaas niet meer. De flitser is echter ook voor beginners zeer eenvoudig in gebruik. Je krijgt snel mooie resultaten met deze flitser.

De Speedlite 420EX is een krachtige, compacte ETTL-staafflitser met een maximaal richtgetal van 42 (bij ISO 100 in de 105mmstand). Voor zowel binnen als buiten zorgt de flitser voor een evenwichtige flitsbelichting. De flitser kan als Slave Unit worden ingesteld, waarbij meerdere 420EX-flitsers kunnen worden gebruikt voor Infrarode E-TTL Multiflitsopnamen in combinatie met de Speedlite 550EX, de Speedlite Infraroodzender ST-E2 of de Macroflitser MR-14EX/MT-24EX. Dit is de laagste geprijsde Slave Unit binnen het infrarode flitssysteem van Canon.

This flash unit, the Canon Speedlite 420EX, was introduced in 2000 and discontinued in 2005. The product is a standard hotshoe-mounted flash unit intended for general purpose applications.
The 420EX is of medium size and weight, (though still fairly large for small consumer EOS cameras) yet packs a useful range of features. Its primary limitation is a complete lack of manual override controls. However, as the first flash unit with wireless E-TTL slave capabilities, it's a popular accessory in multiple-flash setups. A small plastic stand is included for standalone wireless slave operation. Do not confuse this unit with the similarly named, but totally different and much older, Speedlite 420EZ.
Flash metering.
The flash unit supports both TTL and E-TTL/E-TTL II automated flash metering (when used with compatible cameras). Manual flash metering is not supported.
Guide number (power output).
The unit has a zooming flash head which moves internally to adjust for the lens focal length. Control over the zoom position is automatic only. The zoom range is from 24-105 mm, with zoom detents (stops) at 24, 28, 35, 50, 70 and 105mm.
The flash zoom function is not capable of adjusting its position to compensate for the smaller image areas of APS cameras and some digital cameras. The unit thus essentially wastes light by providing enough coverage for full-frame 35mm film even when that isn’t necessary.
The unit’s guide number (provided in metres, not feet, for ISO 100) varies depending on the zoom head settings.
At 24mm the guide number is 23.
At 28mm the guide number is 25.
At 35mm the guide number is 31.
At 50mm the guide number is 34.
At 70mm the guide number is 37.
At 105mm the guide number is 42.
Autofocus Assist.
