Hallo,
kan er me iemand zeggen of hij vertrouwd is of referenties heeft van de Canon Eos Kiss X2 de japanese versie van de 450D bij ons ?
Zou deze kunnen aankopen tegen deftige prijs, doch vraag me af of er veel verschillen opzitten tegenover de europese versie ?
Kan iemand me wijzer maken

Is dezelfde camera, alleen een andere naam.

Ik vermoed dat de menutaal wat lastig is.

Volgens de eigenaar zou nederlands er opstaan, engels zou ook geen probleem zijn.

Dus alle onderdelen die hier te koop zijn kunnen erop gebruikt worden,is toch al een pluspunt

Normaal heb je toch 2 jaar fabrieksgarantie ?

Denk niet dat ik een aankoopfactuur zal krijgen hiervoor, denk niet dat ze japans kennen :-)

Het gaat niet zomaar om 2 jaar garantie maar om Europese garantie hé. Dat toestel uit Japan valt er niet onder denk ik . En 2 jaar garantie is niet overal, in Nederland bvb is dat maar 1 jaar als ik mij niet vergis. En nog:

Digitale producten van Nikon die in Europa worden verkocht, vallen onder een garantie die wordt gerespecteerd door de Europese vestigingen van Nikon in de hieronder vermelde landen. Deze garantie wordt niet ondersteund door Nikon vestigingen buiten Europa. Digitale producten van Nikon die buiten Europa worden gekocht vallen onder lokale garanties.

Als u uw product niet kunt registreren en het bericht "het serienummer is ongeldig en is niet geregistreerd" wordt weergegeven, heeft uw product een niet-Europees serienummer en is dit mogelijk gekocht of bestemd voor de verkoop buiten Europa. Het product kan daarom niet worden geregistreerd op de Europese websites van Nikon.

Ik zie de relevantie niet voor Canon body's...

I just got off the phone with a Brian at customer service approximately 3pm EDT, Aug. 17, 2005. The call was diverted to him by the corp. office when I told them I was phoning from overseas. He confirmed that Canon would not repair or replace my 60-day-old E0S 20D Digital camera under the guarantee and warranty. It seems there is some internal policy that does not allow Canon to honor their promises once a camera leaves US soil.

The reason to why there are no World Wide Warranty on our products are mainly because the model's differ between Asia/America and Europe, and it is not possible to repair all products in all areas. The differences can be depending on different security classification or other certifications. Other differences can be different TV-systems (i.e. Pal, NTSC) or differences in electrical specifications (i.e.. 110V, 220V/50hz) etc.

There are of course exceptions, Canon Europe will repair all EF-lenses and Analog-cameras under World Wide Warranty.

Does anyone have experience with trying to get warranty repairs in Europe, for Canon lenses purchased in the USA?

Specifically, I have an EF 180mm L macro lens that I bought on a visit to the USA last year. It came from a genuine Canon authorised dealer, and has a full Canon USA/Canada warranty. In fact, the warranty card specifically says "International Warranty". This was not a grey import, and my understanding was that Canon would honour the warranty wherever I happened to be in the world.

Well, eight months later, and here I am in England, needing to get the lens inspected under the one-year "International Warranty" (it's a great lens, but not quite as sharp as my 100mm Macro - so I think that maybe it needs some adjustment). I called up Canon Europe to arrange a repair, only to be told, in no uncertain terms, that there's no way Canon will authorise a repair because this "International Warranty" doesn't apply outside the USA and Canada.

I pointed out that the Canon USA website has an FAQ saying that all models distributed by Canon USA "have a 1 year parts & labor warranty which is valid worldwide", but the customer service rep. refused to budge. He tried the usual "passing on" argument, "Canon Europe is a separate company from Canon USA", etc., etc. Eventually he agreed to file a complaint, but didn't hold out much luck for me.

For Canon lenses, Int’l warranty is valid worldwide. It is a different story for a Canon body: warranty is working according to the region of acquisition i.e. for a camera acquired in Europe, the int’l warranty will be valid wihin Europe only.
So as an European if I order a 40 D in the USA and face a problem within the warranty period, Canon will charge me for fixing the problem or will ask me to ship it back to the USA.

for info, B&H offers an extra warranty (cost involved) which allows to avoid shipping the item back to USA.
