Sigma of Tamron

Ik zou aanschaf Canon 30D doen met 1 van deze lenzen, welke is de beste.

of
Sigma 18-50 EX 2.8

Wat zijn de voor en nadelen.

ik heb een tamrom 28-75 1:2.8
schitterende lens
deze komt uit testen beter uit dan de sigma 28-75 lens 1:2.8
dus ik zou ook eerder richting tamron gaan dan de sigma
ook voor die 1mm meer breedthoek

Zeker niet veralgemenen!!!

Anders kan je ook "algemeen "zeggen dat Tamron doorgaans een stuk plastiekerig en minder goed afgewerkt is dan Sigma (EX) objectieven.

Een plastieken bajonet zoals bij Tamron is immers niet ieders gading!...

Daarom alleen al wil ik géén Tamron!

Akkoord dat Tamron enkele goede objectieven in assortiment heeft, maar het is helemààl niet correct om zomaar ongenuanceerd te stellen dat Tamron een "betere naam" zou hebben!

Op Photozone vind je testen van beide lenzen. De Tamron lijkt daar de voorkeur te genieten maar aangezien de Sigma 18-50 recent vernieuwd is liggen de kaarten binnenkort misschien anders.

die Tamron 17-50 dII 2.8 heeft geen plastic bajonetaansluiting juist zoals de 28-75 mm
dus op dat punt is het niet beter of slechter dan de sigma
als ze gebouwd is als de 28-75 mm dan is die lens zeker niet slecht afgewerkt(plastic)
van de 28-75 kan ik zeggen dat ze vrij spatwaterdicht is (mtb wedstrijd in schotland)

De Tamron geeft je 1mm meer breedhoek, maar is ook duurder als ik me niet vergis.
Voor mij voldoet Sigma in elk geval ruimschoots.

On the downside the very high field curvature at wide angle settings can be a problem in some situations (flat or very deep scenes at large aperture settings). Vignetting and distortions are about average for a lens in this class. CAs could be a little better at 17mm but otherwise the issue is quite well controlled. The Sigma AF 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC is an interesting alternative to the basic kit zooms - a higher quality one that is. The performance is generally very good especially in the center of the image. For edge to edge sharpness you may prefer to stop down a little specifically at 18mm where the extreme corners are soft at wide-open aperture. Chromatic aberrations can be disturbing if not corrected and purple fringing can be a quite significant problem at large aperture setting as well (not completly correctable). Typical for many standard zooms the barrel distortions at the wide-end are very pronounced though the issue fades rapidly with longer settings.
The build quality is very decent and maybe a little better than other lenses in this price class and zoom range.
All-in-all the 18-50mm f/2.8EX is not a lens without flaws but the package is quite sound especially when considering the large max. aperture, the price as well as the competition. "

This lens is small for an f/2.8 model and although it suffers slightly at the wide-open aperture the focusing ability throughout the focal range warrants the aperture. From f/4 onwards it is a cracking lens that is light enough to have fitted to the camera permanently as a walk-round lens. It left me feeling that the extra price paid over the standard DC lens was well worth it. A highly recommended lens.

In summary the main positive points of the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC are:
Quick, accurate autofocus
Small and light for an f/2.8 lens
Sharpest lens tested to date
Useful protective pouch

Negative points are:
CA wide open
Slight distortions at either end (Minor point)"

Om je keuze NIET te vergemakkelijken...
Overal zijn voor- en tegenstanders van een merk of het andere.
In uw geval Tamron versus Sigma.
Altijd is er een tweestrijd gaande tussen die 2 merken.
Ik bezit de Tamron SP17-50 f2.8 en nog wat...
De SP bouw van Tamron valt te vergelijken met de EX bouw van de Sigma.
Tamron begint met deze lens met 17 mm, Sigma met 18...
Prijzen? Volgens Tweakers.net €368 voor de Sigma in Amsterdam. €369 voor de Tamron bij www.imaging-one.de ,
waar ik de lens ook gekocht heb in Mei.
De prijs van de Canon variant (€969 ) staat niet in vergelijking met deze 2,
de kwaliteit vermeerderd ook niet enorm door deze aderlating...

De keuze is aan u en het blijft een persoonlijke keuze.
Ik ben geen specifiek merk aanhanger, maar Canon vind ik TE duur.
Ik bezit van ieder één lens n.m. de 17-50f2.8 van Tamron , de 70-200f2.8 EX van Sigma en de 50mm f1.8 MK1 van Canon
en ben zéér tevreden over alledrie.
Succes met uw keuze (...schrijf ook hier eens wat uw uiteindelijke keuze geworden is...)

En als de bouwkwaliteit van deze lens zal zijn zoals we van Tokina gewend zijn dan gaan die Sigma en Tamron daar een serieus puntje kunnen aan zuigen... Optisch zal nog te zien zijn, hopelijk wordt het een goed lensje, ideaal wandellensje volgens mij
