upgrade Canon S45 -> Nikon 5700 de moeite?

Wat denken jullie hiervan? Zou dit de moeite lonen of is dit eigenlijk beetje overkill. Uiteraard is de Nikon beter (8x zoom, betere lens, externe flash mogelijk) maar aan de andere kant heeft m'n huidige Canon S45 zoveel 'pro' mogelijkheden dat ik twijfel of de overstap naar een zwaarder model wel gerechtvaardigd is.

Dus, kunnen jullie elementen aanhalen wanneer dit wél zo zou zijn, of blijf ik beter bij m'n huidig toestel. Let wel, de S45 is eigenlijk de Canon G3 in een kleinere verpakking en is dus zowat topmodel in de consumer-reeks van Canon.

Ik kan met de s45 dus ook sluitertijd instellen, diafragma bepalen, 3x optische zoom (en tot 11x digitaal), auto bracketing zit erin, ook auto bracketing focus (of zoiets), 3 verschillende metering modes (spot, evaluative en metered), ik kan evenveel EV+/- doen voor exposure als de nikon, multi burst mode is zelfs sneller dan nikon, 3min filmpjes met geluid enz

Dus eigenlijk ben ik van de s45 enorm tevreden alleen lijkt zo'n Nikon ZO professioneel dat die toch wat meer moet kunnen dan hetgeen ik hier opsom hé. Dus...fire away!

Aangezien je de S45 vergelijkt met een kleine G3 is misschien het volgende wel handig.

You can read the articles on Dpreview for a list of details, so I won't try to list everything here.

I have the 5700 and considered the G3, so I will tell you what made ME personally buy the nikon. Others will give you different opinions.

To sum it up:
-The 5700 has higher (5mp) resolution than the G3 (4mp) (20% more)
-The 5700 has much more zoom power

-The G3 is essentially a point-and-shoot camera, and the 5700 is more SLR-like...this may be a reason to buy the G3 for many.

-The 5700 has MUCH better color reproduction on outdoor pics. In my opinion - I tried both in the "real world" and found the G3 to be less than optimal for outdoor nature images.

-You won't see much dif. between your G2 and a G3 except for a little better color in some situations, but not all.

-The G3 does not have a light in the status panel -making night shots hard.
-Nikon's macro quality was WAY better

I will say however, that the G3's never ran down in the couple of days that I tested it...and I took over 350 pictures AND diddled with the camera controls endlessly (draining battery as well) I used two batteries in the nikon in the same time frame. And, IMO the G3 would make a better basic P&S camera.

I settled on the 5700 because it offered more manual control (yes the G3 does manual, but is limited to certain settings in certain modes, etc...

And simply put, the images looked more natural and had higher detail. I am still learning the camera and I am happier every day with it.

p.s.-I will not reply to any posts saying I'm wrong or an idiot for saying whatever...I know I'm an idiot and these were things that I found with each camera. Just sharing my experiences.

Niet mijn bedoeling de G3 af te breken. Een vriend van me heeft er net eentje aangeschaft en maakt er hele mooie foto's mee. Ikzelf wou eerst voor een Canon G3 gaan ipv een 5700. Maar daar ik een macro-verslaafde ben leek de 5700 me de beste keuze.

Als je niet geïnteresseerd bent in macrofotografie, en je kan de 8x zoom lens missen zou ik zeker niet veranderen. Maar dat is mijn persoonlijke mening

tja, ik neem af en toe wel eens macro shots maar om het nu m'n 1e keus te maken, neen. ik zit gewoon beetje met dilemma dat m'n s45 zoveel dingen kan dat ik twijfel of de Nikon dan wel zo'n goeie investering is. akkoord, die zoom ziet er heel lekker uit maar dat is het zo ongeveer voor alledaags gebruik.

het zou anders liggen mocht ik nog steeds een ixusV hebben of een kleinere digicam, want die hebben bijna geen manuele instellingen, maar ik heb de s45 pas en nu opnieuw zo'n dure camera erbij kopen is misschien beetje onnozel

ik weet van mezelf dat ik nogal verzot ben op allerlei technische snufjes, het is ook daarom dat ik geneigd ben nogal snel te 'veranderen'
