    Sony A7RII, RX100M4 + RX10M2 : wow!

    Sony is echt wel zot bezig. Enige waar ik mijn bedenking bij heb, is de prijs, maar verder...wow! Denk er toch sterk aan mijn RX100M3 te upgraden en de A7RII ziet er toch ook redelijk fantastich uit.
    - A7R2 heeft 42.4mp, in body stabilisatie, snelle AF, 4K video enz
    - RX100M4 + RX10M3 hebben een stacked sensor, 4K video, snelle AF en ultra slowmotion video

        Het enige wat ze in mijn ogen verkeerd doen, is nog steeds lossy compression gebruiken bij de RAW bestanden.

            En welke fotograaf zit hierop te wachten? Dus zot bezig, misschien?????

            BMW heeft oooit ook eens een auto uitgebracht waarbij je alles vanuit een trackerball in de middenconsole kon regelen, maar ze hadden er geen rekening meegehouden, dat de weg weleens heobbelt..................

            Wat is het voordeel van een toestel dat er fantastiscj uitziet?
            Nikons, Nikkors, Sigma's en Tamrons..15 tot 400mm en nu ook een Pen + Zuiko's en Lumix...

              Het ziet er niet alleen fantastisch uit, de specificaties zijn ook grotendeels fantastisch. En omdat een camera meer is dan de body alleen, is er ook nog dit heuglijke nieuws:

              By early 2016, Sony will add an additional 8 new lenses to its FE full frame lineup, bringing the FE total to 20 lenses and the overall alpha-mount assortment to 70 different models.

              De nieuwe ZEISS Batis lenzen (enkel voor Sony E-Mount verkrijgbaar) zijn daar een mooi voorbeeld van. Sony is hard gas aan 't geven in de mirrorless wereld en dan kan de rest niet meer volgen. Die indruk geven ze alvast.

                Nog leuk nieuws trouwens:

                One of the most impressive features of the a7R II is its autofocus system. 399 phase-detection AF points cover 45% of the frame, which means over 60% coverage in either horizontal or vertical directions in the frame. That gives it more coverage than any full-frame camera out there. PDAF will work even with third-party lenses via existing adapters, including in continuous AF tracking mode. This is potentially a huge deal - especially for Canon users. We've used an a7R II with a Canon 24-70mm lens and a Metabones adapter, and focus is indeed very fast indeed. We'll be looking at this in more depth as soon as we have a production sample camera, but for now, we're highly impressed.

                        Ik denk toch niet dat ik mijn RX100III ga weg doen voor de mark IV. Buiten 4k weinig veranderd vind ik
                        D7200 + Sigma 17-50mm 2.8f OS +Nikon 70-200mm 2.8f VRII + Nikon 35mm 1.8F Prime + Nikon flits SB600.
                        Compact Canon ixus 870 + Canon G7X Mark II + Sony RX100MIII en Panasonic FZ1000.

                          How could a new sensor hi-res be designed without consideration of its full potential? Sure, a lot of big improvements have been made in the newer version today and I can't stop smiling ear to ear but this has me thinking. I am positive that I am not the only one here trying to figure this reason out.

                          The lossy compression takes away from a true native file. Could something different be given through a firmware upgrade?

                          I asked this question of the main guy, said that a *lot* of people are asking for it, and that even if there were some tradeoff in operational speed, people would like to at least have the option. He said that they've heard this request, and my bringing it up helped underscore its importance. He said that they could provide this via a firmware update (I wasn't sure to what extent their image processor was optimized somehow for the compressed format), but he couldn't promise any ETA.

                          I think it's fair to say that they're looking into it very seriously, I think they realize that it's a sticking point for people, and a negative mark for some who are considering Sony vs other brands.

                            En de sluiter van de A7RII zou 500.000 clicks meegaan. Compleet gestoord. Dat is zelfs meer dan bij een peperdure 1Dx (400.000 clicks). Het is inderdaad wel een dure camera. Maar er zijn ook genoeg zotten die een 5D3, 1Dx, D800, D810, D4, D4s of Df gekocht hebben bij de launch. Er is dus zeker een markt voor deze camera. Als Sony naderhand nog lossless compression of uncompressed RAW files kan toevoegen via een firmware update, dan hebben ze echt een verschrikkelijk geweldig product op de markt gebracht.

                            Vermits de AF met third-party lenzen nu ook snel zou zijn (Metabones adapter + Canon lenzen bvb), heeft Canon eigenlijk best wel een probleem.

                              De RX100 IV krijgt een advieprijs van 1150 euro en de RX10 II moet voor 1600 euro van de hand gaan.
                              Stevige prijs, 1150€ voor een compact, amai.
