  • my 10D : dead pixel and noisy 400 iso

    Hello,
i need help from people here, especially to know if i am fool or not

    1) i have an effective (white) dead pixel in my cmos. Can/must i send it back to the shop ?

    2) 400 Iso seems noisy/grainy. I put image test on pbase, and i did a level adjustment in a specific zone. You can see the grain.
IS THIS NORMAL at 400 iso ????

    Than in advance for help

    Hello ggagnon,

The "noise" isn't really noise imho ...
It's the same kind of "pattern" I have with the D60 when shooting macros with extreme DOF even with a lover ISO value.
It's a really "clean" image at full size.
Regarding a death pixel, that shouldn't be there.

Hi Gagnon sorry that I'm a bit off topic here: I saw that in your pbase inbox you had a photo with a tamron lens. Could you tell me which Tamron lens you were using for these shots? I'm searching lenses so I try to get as much info as possible.

Concerning your dead pixel I consider it shouldn't be there.

        1) Thanks for info I sent back my 10D and have a new.
        No dead pixel, wonderful colors

        2) My old pictures done with Tamron lens, concern a
Tamron 28-200 Macro XR. It is a bit soft. But for me,
i do not condam soft images and i like it for landscape and people.
Canon 28-135 IS is better and sharper, but sometimes too
constrated to my taste. It depends my feelings of the moment

        Regards
        guy
